Travel Tips:
Flights are available to several locations which are drivable or within a train ride to Lucca, including Florence, Rome, Pisa, and Bologna.
Florence is the most accessible airport when traveling to Lucca. The drive from Florence to Lucca is approximately 50 minutes. Flying into Florence will likely require a connection from another major Italian airport, such as Rome.
From Rome, rent a car and drive directly to Lucca or hop on a train to Florence. The train ride from Rome to Florence takes 2 hours and 30 minutes. From the train station in Florence, rent a car or book a taxi ride to Lucca. Most of our guests who have booked travel decided to fly into Rome because its an easy commute to Lucca and a more affordable flight option.
Other airport options include Pisa Airport or Bologna Airport. Pisa has the nearest airport to Lucca, although less flight options than Florence, and is a 30-minute car ride or a 1-hour bus ride to Lucca. Bologna is 1-hour and 30-minutes from Lucca by car.
